You should know... When Don Maximiano Errazuriz arrived on the Chilean wine scene in the late 1800s, he was ridiculed by his contemporaries for planting vines in what was assumed to be a region poorly suited to growing grapes. Now, however, his legacy, in the form of Errázuriz winery, is considered to be the single top quality producer of Chilean wines. This feat was globally recognised in the 2004 Berlin Tasting, in which their wine ‘Seña’ was placed 2nd, ahead of both Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Margaux.
