Italy

Piedmont Trentino Alto Adige Veneto Friuli-Venezia Giulia Tuscany Le Marche Umbria lazio abruzzo Puglia Campania Basilicata Sicily
I think it would be fair to say that Italy has won life’s lottery…in pretty much every aspect. Beautiful countryside, a beautiful language and beautiful people – and since handsome is as handsome does, said beautiful people make beautiful food and (more importantly) beautiful wine.
Something particularly special about Italy is that it’s home to a number of grape varieties that are rarely grown outside of the country. In fact, there are actually 453 recorded native Italian grape varieties, quite why one country needs so many different grapes I have no idea but there’s no denying that it’s pretty impressive.
Since Italy’s most northern point is in alpine territory and it’s most southern point is actually further south than the northern coast of Africa, it’s climate is equally as diverse as the wines it produces.
